After 45 years of Roundup® brand agricultural herbicides being on the market, Bayer continues to make formulation improvements. Roundup PowerMAX® 3 Herbicide is a 4.8 lb of acid equivalent (a.e.) glyphosate per gallon product vs the 4.5 lb a.e. for Roundup PowerMAX® Herbicide. The difference may seem small; however, it reduces the application rate by 2 fl oz/acre compared to Roundup PowerMAX® Herbicide. The 2 fl oz/acre reduction allows a mini bulk (265 gallons) of Roundup PowerMAX® 3 Herbicide to cover an additional 70 acres. Table 1 provides common rate conversions.
