How have Custom Crop Reports provided benefit to your farm?
I've got one instance with a grower. We were out doing a field checkup series, we found a lot of just dead brown plants here and there. It didn't make a lot of sense. There wasn't a lot of pattern to it, except that a lot of the brown dead plants were in low lying areas. It wasn't anthracnose. It wasn't stalk rot. It wasn't red root rot. Ended up slicing a plant down the middle, finding the plant was getting eaten from the inside out and determined that it was physoderma stalk rot. So filled out a custom crop report, gave that to the grower, took multiple pictures on ground and with our drone, and we were able to compile that into a custom crop report. Gave him a copy of it. Recommended a fungicide application that kind of minimized the effects of it, and we kind of just learned from that and moved on. There's a copy of that in his file now. We've got a lot of growers that actually have a file that's broken into fields. So when we're actually picking out a hybrid for that field, we'll pull the field file out of that grower's file and bring up custom crop reports from the last two, three, four years. Corn on corn producer, you can bet every year from here on out, we're going to be selecting against physoderma stalk rot in that field.
